Release Notes

v0.8.31

Location-based custom fields, practice email delivery, and flexible business naming

This release lets practices manage custom field values separately for each location, connect their own email service for bookings and notifications, and rename core terms like "Organization" to fit their business. The public booking form also collects date of birth and address, and mobile booking summaries are easier to read.

Features

  • Location-specific custom fields: practices with multiple locations can now set custom field values, such as staff biographies, separately for each location, with staff seeing only the locations relevant to them.
  • Long-text field height: admins can now control how many lines a long-text field shows when editing custom fields.
  • Practice-owned email delivery: practices can connect their own email sending service so booking confirmations and notifications go out under their own address and branding, with previews, test sends, and delivery activity available under Admin Configuration.
  • Location email settings inheritance: locations automatically use the practice's default email settings and clearly show which values are inherited versus overridden.
  • More details collected during online booking: the public booking form now asks for date of birth and address, so practices no longer need to chase this information by phone.
  • Smarter duplicate handling: if two people share an email address when booking online, a separate record is created for staff to review instead of the booking being rejected.
  • One consistent booking experience: the booking widget, client portal, and booking-management links now share the same options and rules, so what a client can book is always up to date.
  • Clearer mobile booking summary: the collapsed summary on phones now shows a label describing what is being booked, not just the current selection.
  • Quieter notes counter: the character counter on appointment notes now only appears when approaching the limit.
  • Rename your business terms: practices can now rename "Organization" to match their business, for example a salon can display "Salon" everywhere including the public booking page. The top administrator role is now labelled "Owner" by default.
  • Cleaner access management layout: role and permission screens use a clearer, less cluttered layout.

Fixes

  • Inherited email settings now visible: location email routing screens correctly show inherited organization defaults instead of appearing blank.
  • Accurate incident history: archiving an email connection now closes its related issue correctly without incorrectly suggesting the connection recovered.
  • Honest booking address copy: the booking form now correctly states that a collected address is kept on the client's record, rather than implying it will be used for postal contact.
  • Restored location website settings: a small number of locations were missing website availability settings after a previous update; these have been automatically restored.

Security and reliability

  • Safer handling of booking details: personal information collected during the online booking verification step is now encrypted while temporarily held, adding extra protection for sensitive data.
  • Ongoing dependency maintenance: underlying software components were updated to keep the platform protected against known security issues.
