Week 27: Native Booking Engine, Split Names, and Session Security Upgrades

Jun 29, 2026 - Jul 5, 20262 releases

This week's update brings a major upgrade to appointment scheduling with a new native booking engine, plus split first and last name fields for clients and staff, and stronger session security across all portals.

  • Booking: Appointments are now scheduled entirely within Praxium across the admin portal, client portal, and public booking widget, with real-time checks for staff availability, location, skills, and services.
  • Client & Staff Records: Clients and staff now have separate first and last name fields everywhere in the platform, making it easier to search, sort, and address people correctly.
  • Security: Idle sessions now lock with a password prompt instead of logging you out, and the Remember Me duration has been shortened to 14 days for better protection.
  • Interface: The staff list, FAQ management, and various admin screens received clearer labels and more consistent styling.

Features

  • Native appointment booking: Scheduling is now fully owned by Praxium across the admin portal, client portal, and public booking widget, replacing the previous third-party integration.
  • Appointment calendar views: The admin portal now includes day and multi-day calendar views with staff and location columns, current-time indicators, and quick-create slots.
  • Client portal booking with slot holds: Selected slots are temporarily reserved to prevent double-booking.
  • Public booking widget: Visitors can search for available slots, verify their identity by email, and receive a confirmation with manage and reschedule links.
  • Separate first and last name fields: Clients and staff now have distinct first and last name fields across the platform, including booking, search, exports, and activity logs.
  • Idle screen lock: Idle sessions now lock with a password prompt instead of ending the session, so work can resume without a full re-login.
  • Staff list improvements: The account status column is clearer and staff working at every location now show a single All locations label.

Fixes

  • Services offered at all locations no longer disappear from public rates pages.
  • Date and date-time custom fields now correctly show their saved value when editing.
  • Remembered sessions no longer expire early due to background refresh issues.
  • Multi-factor authentication no longer leaves sessions in an inconsistent state requiring an extra login.
  • Booking confirmation emails now use the staff member's correct public name.
  • Archived locations are no longer counted when showing the All locations label for staff.

Security and reliability

  • Session handling has been hardened with tighter controls around token updates for more consistent protection across all portals.
  • The maximum Remember Me duration has been shortened, reducing exposure if a device is lost or compromised.
  • Name data now includes additional safeguards to ensure it is always stored completely and consistently.
